Delighted to say that this painting won the Judy Townsend Memorial Prize during the official opening and preview event of the Shropshire Art Society Summer Exhibition 2025.

This prize is awarded each year in memory of Judy Townsend, one time treasurer, and much loved and admired member of the Society.

The prize-winner is chosen by members of Judy’s family. Given Judy’s love of trying something new and her flair for design, the award is based upon the artist’s originality and the quality of the design in the painting.

And much to my surprise it also sold the same day – not a bad start to the exhibition!
